Export & push to Premiere
When your captions are ready, Subtext gets them back into your edit — to disk as an SRT, or straight into your Premiere project.
History
Section titled “History”Subtext auto-saves your work continuously. The History panel reopens your recent edits, so you can close the panel mid-edit and pick up exactly where you left off.
On launch, Subtext can reopen your previous session, start fresh, or ask each time. Set this in ☰ → Settings → On launch.
Export SRT
Section titled “Export SRT”Export SRT saves the edited file to disk — you choose where. Use this any time you want a plain SRT copy.
Push to Premiere
Section titled “Push to Premiere”Push to Premiere files a versioned SRT copy — named after your sequence, e.g. Sequence_v2.srt — in a Subtext bin in the Project panel and selects it for you. Drag it onto your timeline to place the captions.
Push scope
Section titled “Push scope”Choose to push:
- Everything — all captions in the file, or
- In / Out range — only the captions within the sequence’s In/Out points.
Where the file is saved
Section titled “Where the file is saved”The SRT is saved to a Subtext folder beside your project file by default. You can set your own folder in ☰ → Settings → Caption save location.
