Appearance & settings
Subtext is built to match Premiere and stay out of your way. Open settings from ☰ → Settings.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”- Dark by default to match Premiere.
- An optional light theme.
- A customizable accent color — pick the hue that suits you.
- A UI-size control that scales the whole panel, handy on high-resolution displays.
General
Section titled “General”- On launch — choose whether Subtext reopens your previous session, starts fresh, or asks each time.
- Caption save location — set your own folder for pushed/exported SRTs (defaults to a Subtext folder beside your project file).
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”Everything runs locally inside Premiere. Subtext edits caption files on your machine — your files never leave your computer.
